Healthier Neighbors Mini Grant

In 2018, Healthier Neighbors followed in the footsteps of our sister healthier together communities and began the implementation process for community mini grants. After hosting listening sessions with residents and other community stakeholders we decided to “keep the application short” and, in addition to our focus areas, consider including funds for individuals who wanted to launch their own business and create generational wealth.

Spearheaded by our devoted team of volunteer, our mini grant provides an opportunity for residents to gain seeding dollars for ideas related to the following: 

A. Access or education related to healthy foods 

B. Root causes of trauma and violence 

C. Engaging faith-based organizations with the community 

D. Small business start-up

E, Behavioral health resources for therapists and/or residents
