In 2020, Healthier Neighbors invested another $50,000 into 38 residents within the 33404, 33401 and 33407 zip codes. This included 8 business awards and 23 community projects. We were extremely excited to meet new winners and welcome back some returning winners from our first year.

Healing Circle

Providing virtual healing services to mothers of murdered children in PBC 

Behave Healthy Riviera Beach

Teaching students (grades 5-8) the benefits of healthy eating and healthy living 

GPTA Nutritional Snack Initiative

Providing healthy snacks and nutritional education to parents and children receiving instructional tennis and homework help with the GPTA.

12-week virtual program with BRIDGES RB addressing mental health in black men 

Project Escape

Providing women and children with a safe place to quarantine and distance from abusive domestic situations until they are able to receive assistance or relocate  

Cityside Suites

Opportunity for restaurants and aspiring food vendors to rent out mobile food units for affordable prices without incurring the major costs to buy and own a space. 

Technological Teens of Tomorrow

Video programming and music training experience for youth. They will become certified in behind the scenes productions work. 

"MENTAL HEALTH & THE CHURCH" VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

Virtual conference connecting local government officials, mental health organizations, faith based organizations, and PBC residents in hopes reducing mental health stigma. Counseling sessions for 30 families. 

Bridge 2 Infinity Youth Entrepreneur Camp

Introducing students to minority and black owned businesses in PBC. Includes a mental health and healthy eating workshop.  

Global Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Prevention Academy

Educational course for the community bringing awareness to sexual crimes against children and introducing preventive strategies for combating exploitation and abuse. 

Yoga for All Media Expansion

Bringing yoga and meditation to the African American community by providing free classes via YouTube, Twitch, and the JumpForJoi.com website (adhering to social distancing). 

In the Garden With Tabernacle

The continuation of a community garden planted, harvested, and distributed by homeless and at-risk volunteers in the Northwest community. This will provide fresh produce and nutrition education to the community.  

It Starts With Me

A multi part educational series that aims empower individuals, give them the tools and skills that will afford better opportunities in life, and help them understand that their path to success starts with their own mindset.  

When I'm Mad: A Therapeutic Coloring Book

Distributing a therapeutic coloring book to young students in order to teach them healthy ways of expressing anger and frustration at an early age.  

Mixin' It Up! Campaign

Campaign to encourage residents in Northern WPB to increase their water intake by introducing different types of flavor infused waters. Also educating the community on healthier alcohol consumption. 

Youth Hydroponic Farming & Mentoring Project 2

Educating African American males in Riviera Beach (age 10-19) on the importance of food production & how to produce healthier foods through hydrophonic farming. Mentoring on life skills & personal development. 

ELAN Art Community Project

Art course in which community members receive free supplies and are able to participate and practice mindfulness while safe at home. 

Dare to Care Leadership Service Project

Young girls in 33404, 33401, 33407 will complete service projects based on a social issue of their choosing in the areas of health and wellness, leadership, and social justice.  

FIM - Food Is Medicine

Addressing food insecurity and aiming to prevent diet related illness in the community. Residents will receive a gift card with funds that can only purchase fresh fruit and vegetables. 

Good Guys Gang

Mentoring African American males age 10-14 in the community and encouraging principles of leadership and self awareness. Mentees will learn life skills such as money management, meal planning, team building, speech, and much more. 

Living for the Weekend

Providing healthy food choices to students in Riviera Beach on weekends when there is no access to the Summer Feeding Program.  

The Ladybug's Art Box

Delivering boxes throughout the community with various art supplies to be used as therapeutic tools for individuals to express themselves during or after trauma.  

SPARC Guidance

Covid 19 Business Restructure. Transitioning to online workshops for minority families of children with autism. 

Parallel Theater Productions

Production company producing performing arts such as acting, dancing, and singing for children seeking an outlet or seeking to showcase their talent. 

Glowrious Bath & Body

Start up business specializing in skincare and wellness services using herbal remedies and holistic care techniques.  

Silver Fox Elite Fitness

Mobile fitness and nutrition services for seniors from a personal trainer during Covid 19. 

One Jazzy Fit Mom

Healthy lifestyle group for mothers. Includes affordable bootcamps, healthy meal assistance, assistance building an at home gym, and support groups.  

Curtisy Property Management, LLC

The property management, landscaping, lawn maintenance, and bookkeeping full package for various communities. 

Cooking With Ms. Shavon

Mobile cooking class for children 2-12 years old. Building literacy, mathematic social, emotional, fine motor, and hand-eye coordination skills. 

My Midwife Tia

 Licensed midwife providing compassionate, comprehensive & individualized prenatal care, labor, home birth & postpartum care.
